The Amalfi Coast is a
stretch of great natural beauty located in the Province of Salerno, Campania
region, Italy. It has been one of the first natural site (1997) classified by
the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In this heavenly place, we find the
picturesque town of Ravello!
The small, quiet,
elegant Ravello houses old and well-preserved buildings amidst its narrow
streets and stunning gardens, on the Tyrrhenian coast. Known as "la città
della Musica", it had its first festival in 1953, to honor the great
composer Wagner, who was inspired by his gardens to create the magic Garden of
Klingsor in his opera Parsifal. Today the festival presents, in addition to
classical music, cinema, art and literature shows. Its concert hall, built in
2011, is the work of the famous Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.
